Reading A.R. Books - Project Guidelines « Thread Started on Mar 13, 2006, 11:05pm »
Reading A.R. books is an effective way to improve one's reading level. Successful readers of fiction are able to identify key elements of fiction as well as effective strategies in reading novels.
1. After MaestroSersea's lecture on key elements of fiction, please review discussion threads, "Elements of Fiction" and "A Strategy for Reading Novels", and follow the links in the top posts. Should you have questions or comments to share, make sure you click on "reply" and let us know your thoughts.
2. Classwork Assignment: Read 3, classroom AR fiction texts with all tests passed by March 24th, 2005. Once the tests are completed, you must return to this discussion board, and, using your judgement, write about your book in either one of these categories: -- "A fiction book you will love reading is ...." -- "A fiction book you may enjoy reading is ..." -- "A fiction book you may not enjoy reading is ..."
3. Homework Assignment: Read 2, library AR fiction texts with all tests passed. You must write a reading log entry for each 10-15 pages of reading. Once the tests are completed, you must return to this discussion board, and, using your judgement, write about your book in either of these categories: -- "A fiction book you will love reading is ...." -- "A fiction book you may enjoy reading is ..." -- "A fiction book you may not enjoy reading is ..." Make sure you complete your homework reading and AR tests as well as complete discussion board entries and turn in the reading logs for both books by March 24th, 2005.
4. Presentation/Assessment: You must present one of the fiction books you have read in front of the class on either March 23rd or March 24th during class time. You must discuss at least three different elements of fiction from your book, and answer questions from the audience.

Have a look, very good, pass by... Be honest but not too modest. Dress properly. Don't shake hands with the interviewer until he/she extends his/her hand.A rolling stone gathers no moss.
